Ken, I was told to go into Add & Remove programs to find out the version of iTunes that I was running. That did not tell me anything. So the only way I figured out to do this was to open the Start menu, select All Programs, Select iTunes, Select About iTunes and a text file opened in Word. As I read down through the document, I found a section labeled "What's new in iTunes 8.1...". Maybe if you are running some other version, you can find a clue like this in the file you have.
