It comes on all windows 7 machines. It may or may not be turned on in security center. Defender is more malware than viruses.

Hi all,
   I have a win 7 and JAWS 15.
I got some type of message indicating that Windows Defender needed to run a
scan.
I don't think that I even haveDefender on my PC.
I use "Quick Heel" as anti virus on that machine.
The message looked like an update from microsoft.
Has anyone seen this?
Does one need Defender on Win 7 machines?
I thought Defender was only for Win 8 machines.

Thanks for any help.
