yes absolutely and if your keyboard has a num pad you might also try
the right mouse button on the num pad

I can't tell you why your applications key quit working but, try the
keystroke, shift + F10, & see if that works.  Sometimes laptop keyboards
don't have an applications key so, shift + F10, is another keystroke for the
applications  key / context menu.  HTH
