Hi Alan,

If you just plug it in, Win7 will find the drivers & it'll work just fine
but, it does come with a disk for additional program installation &, it does
come with a USB cable.
Take care.

Thanks for all suggestions Mike, Trish, Steve, & Mario. Looks like
I'll try the Cannon suggestion Mike & Trish suggested. Assuming it is
USB 2.0 and cable comes with it? Is it plug & play or have driver disk
to install? If the later, any issues with JAWS and installation? Also,
when scanning does Open Book with Jaws work ok and do you scan from
the unit itself with a button or from screen of PC?

best

Hi Alan,

I highly recommend the Canon CanoScan 110 LiDE stand alone scanner.
It's USB powered & works great. I paid $60.00 for mine from Tiger
Direct a couple of years ago. If you talk to Stephanie she might be
able to get you one. There are more advanced scanners than this one
but, I've found this one to fit all my needs but, your needs might be
more extensive than my own.
It is Jaws accessible.
Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Scanner recommendation

Hello,

I am currently using the Pearl camera for my scanning needs. Works
well with JAWS but lacks the precision I need with some scanning
tasks. I am looking for recommendations for an easy to use, setup,
and JAWS friendly flatbed scanner. I do not want an all in one unit,
simply a scanner. Anyone on the list have something they like and
would recommend? I am using Windows 7 64 bit. You can write off list
if you prefer.

Thanks,
