hello Michele

I believe, to turn off the mousepad,
use the keystroke,
function key plus f9.

or, you can turn off in mouse properties.

Hi Michele,

What brand of laptop are you using? Diffeerent brands / makers will have
different keystrokes for disabling / enabling the function keys, from what I
understand.
Take care.

On my gateway laptop function key 6 on the numeric key row
toggles the
on/off touch pad.

What a coincidence! I also have this problem when I tried to

Hi users. I have noticed that when I press the function key
plus f5
on my laptop to enable the mouse pad, JAWS does not let me know
it
has occurred; nor does it let me know if the procedure has been
disabled. Is this standard or is there something else I need to
change in the settings centre in order for JAWS to make these
 announcements?

 Thanks.

 Michele
