Kevin, great solution. I have followed your steps for this solution and
clearly you are put in the right control to "use or not use" a password. I
have not yet made the change, wanting to verify first if others have done this
with success and no problems afterword's.
When I called Toshiba on this problem, they did not offer this solution but
said I would have to roll back and start anew with the computer and lose all
of what was on the computer.
So I hope that if some of you have taken Kevin's solution and implemented this,
to confirm this to others like me awaiting confirmation that it indeed works
with no problems.
Thank you.

Hi, You can press Windows key+R to get the run dialog box, then, in the run
edit field, type in "control userpasswords2", without the quotes, and press
enter.

In the resulting dialog box, uncheck the box that says, users must type a
password to use this computer, and make sure it's unchecked.

Tab to the ok button, and press enter or the spacebar.

You'll receive a dialog box prompting you to select the default user and to
enter the password associated with that user.

Once you select and type in the default username and password, tab to the ok
button, and press the spacebar.

At this point, you can close the userpasswords2 dialog box, if it's still open,
or unless you want to make more advanced modifications in one of the other
tabs, and from that point onwards, it should boot directly into the desktop.
but the computer doesn't really boot into desktop when mine boots, it first
says jaws for windows, then sign in, the computer pauses cause jaws and windows
are still loading few seconds jaws announces jaws professional and I'm on the
desktop I don't need to type a password

Keep in mind that if you have User Control turned on, it will prompt you to
press the yes button if you want to allow the action.

Is there any way to remove or bypass the password?

Yes, the w-10 sign-in screen is totally accessible with Jaws.
Use narrator to verify your account, this verification screen is not
accessible with Jaws.
No, I do not use a pin on the laptop.
Yes, according to Microsoft support, if you are using a Microsoft account to
log-in to w-10, you must verify.
If not, after about 30 days or so, your Anti-virus and or your firewall will
be turned off, to remind you to verify your account.
Call Microsoft support yourself, that is what they explained to me
yesterday, take the matter up with them yourself.
If you wish to do nothing, that is totally up to you.
But if you are using a Microsoft account to log-in, to w-10, you will
experience problems down the road if you do not verify.
Thank you and have a nice day.

It would seem that the sign-in screen is not accessible either, as I just
came from there, and couldn't read a thing with it.

My OCR commands yielded nothing in terms of interactions, nor did the Jaws
cursor. Having said that though, I did have sighted assistance in the form
of my wife, and it would seem that even though Jaws wasn't reading anything
on the page, the keyboard was still entering information on the page.

The problem, of course, is that we don't know what field we're in and what
information to place in those fields unless you have sighted assistance.

One thing I did not have to do was Verify my account.

It might be because I did not set up a Pin code, but either way, this was
not a step I had to hurdle in order to get it to use my account.

Jim, did you set up a pin code?

Scorpio

Hi Jaws Users group.
If you are using a Microsoft account to sign into your w-10 computer, you
must verify your account!
You will need sited help or you need to call the M S Support line at:
Microsoft Free Computer Repair Number. 1 800 936 – 5900
How to check your system to see if you need to verify.
Windows key+I, for settings.
Right arrow to, Account, press enter.
Tab one time and listen, tab a second time, if you need to verify, this will
say, verify link.
Press enter on this link, will bring up a empty container window that Jaws
can not read.
I was able to use the touch cursor successfully on my desktop, and had
Microsoft send me a text code to my cell phone.
Which I entered into my desktop correctly and verified my computer with my
Microsoft account.
However, we did not verify our laptop yet.
So, this morning when it came on, my wife could not access her email.
The reason why, was that Microsoft turned our anti-virus off, and under
security, there was that same verify link.
so, if you do not verify shortly after installing w-10, if you use a
Microsoft account, this same thing will happen to you.
I am not able to verify our laptop.
After spending 1 and a half hours with Microsoft, they were not able to
verify it either.
So, waiting on a phone call, I did let them know that this verify screen is
not accessible at all.
So, why I am waiting, I am still trying to use the Jaws touch cursor to
verify our laptop.
Final thoughts, if you have sited help, use them to verify your Microsoft
account, if not one of these days your anti-virus, will be turned off by
Microsoft to remind you to verify your account.
I personally, do not like this procedure, but Microsoft says, its for
security purposes.
Those of you, who, do not have sited help, call the above support number.
If you are using a Microsoft account to sign-in, this verification is
required, no way around it.
Good luck...
