Hi Since you are using a Serial to USB adaptor, it created Com3 when it was first plugged in. Com1 was the default for a physical Serial port, which you don't find on today's machines. If you open Device Manager and goto Ports (Com & LPT), you will see that there is no Com1 for your computer. So you have to use Com3 or whatever the adapter created.
I haven't noticed the difference in what was said when you delete a character, so can't advise anything. The Dectalk Express only supports English, so does not show anything in the Language choice. When I press the deleete key on the calculator keypad to delete a letter some time it will just say delete and other times it spells the word delete and still kills the letter. Would anyone know why this is. Also, one last item. I’ve tried I think it’s a alt l or is it a ctrl l for language. I’ve tried to type in english, but it will not expcept it. So for synthesizer language it is set to none. Do we need a language? Because it is working fine without a language set. Just some thought and I’m enjoying dec-talk express on a win 10 machine.
