Hi Fred, I hooked mine up with my wife's assistance. I told her where all the wires hook up to. The KVM switch will come with two wires coming out of it. On each branch of wires is a VGA, two USB and one RCA audio speaker and one RCA mic which you will plug into each desktop. Then you plug your Monitor's VGA plug into the KVM switch. Then plug your keyboard and mouse USB into the switch. Then plug your RCA speaker audio plug and your RCA Mic plug into the KVM switch. I do not have a microphone RCA plug you don't have to plug one in if you don't have one.

All I have to do is push one button to switch from one computer to the other one. I have had it for many years and it workds very well. I think the cost of KVM switch cost around 20 to 30 bucks. It had all the wires on it to connect to two computers. You just plug your mouse, monitor, keyboard and speakers in to the switch. If you want to know the brand I have let me know and I will have my wife look at it and tell you what brand it is. I hope this helps. You can have both computers on and then switch between them. I have been on the phone with Microsoft Disability Line and had them on both computers at the same time. I told the guy he can do that and he tried it. So he fix both my computers at the same time and I was able to just hit the switch and go back and forth between both computers.
