Kimsan, I included an error in my message. To shift focus to another field in
an Outlook message, press the alt combination twice quickly. The shift key
isn't involved. Thus, alt-3 twice quickly to land in the "To " field, etc.

Related shortcuts are alt-5 for the subject line and alt-6 for the bcc line.
Alt-1 works for the "From" line, but not when you're composing a message. I
guess MS assumes you know you're the sender.

I should've read your email first. I just wasted five minutes of clock work, as
you just said the same thing, minus the alt 4 part that I neglected to mention
lol.
Duplicates are wonderful at times, though.
Respectfully,

Agreed. Just one tweak to make the confirmation process faster. For step 2,
rather than shift-tab several times, press alt-3 to hear the text in the "to"
line. I also press alt-4 to hear the "cc" line, just in case. It saves a lot of
tabbing.

Since I mention those two keystrokes, I'll add that if you want to change focus
to the "To" field, add the shift key. Do the same for the other fields.

Hi Kimsan,

There's a couple of things to remember when invoking the reply directly to
sender keystroke.
1. When invoking the, Insert / Jaws key, Shift, + R, keystroke you should hear,
Replying directly to sender, edit, To & the email address of the person you are
replying to, or something close.
2. To make sure you're replying to that individual instead of the list, always,
shift + tab, up to the, To field, to make sure their email address is there
instead of the list email address.

Take care.
Mike

I'm confused. You can configure settings via outlook for this list?
I did not do anything settings related for this list.
Which version of jaws and outlook are you using?

It just depends on how your outlook is set up with relative to the list then.
When I use insert shift r sith my pc, it goes to the list. I have to copy and
paste the e-mail address into my outlook of the person who I want to send the
message to if it's from a list. I will look for a way to change the settings
around and see if I can get that to work.

All of the emails I received from folks worked, except 1 which was the other
gentlemen from this thread using jfw 13 and outlook 2010. That email came to
the list as David pointed out; however, when I saw the email come through the
list, I replied directly to him using the command to notify him it didn't make
it to me, and only the list.
People who emailed me, some were using jaws 18 with outlook 2016, so I'd
venture to assume that it works with outlook 2016 and jaws 17 and later...
Now I don't have to worry posting to the list again where there are f bombs
involved like last week on another list lol. Or, I should just clean up my
language.

I replied to Kimsan's message using INSERT + SHIFT + R and it ONLY went back to
him.
I am using JAWS 18 and Outlook 2016.

That doen's work on the list because technically the jaws list is the sender;
try shift tabbing to the To field to see who the sender is.

Hi,

I am trying your insert, Shift & the letter R, to see if it replies's directly
to you. Please let me know. If it works, this command is great.

I am using Outlook 10, Word 2010 and JAWS 13.

Hi,

I'm not sure if it's by luck, or outlook 2016, or the jaws version I'm using
which is 17. Heck, I just don't know. In any event, those using outlook 2016,
since that's the version I'm using, could someone (and you can use my email
here to test it if you'd like) evoke the keystroke insert shift r to see if the
reply directly to sender works for them?
I don't think this mailing list replies directly to the member when replying
like other lists but I do remember the above keystroke not working in the past,
and again, I'm not sure if it's jaws 17, or outlook 2016. If it is outlook
2016, awesome as smile that keystroke never worked for me in previous versions
which got me in trouble quite a bit.
I bring this up as I was talking to a buddy about this and how I can reply
directly to a sender without opening up notepad, coppying, pasting etc. I just
went to five different emails on different mailing lists and insert shift r
indeed replied directly to sender, which rocks.

Respectfully,

Kimsan Song
