Have you looked at the compilation-mode-hook and use the - *Docstring* hscroll-mode is an interactive compiled Lisp function in `hscroll'. (hscroll-mode &optional ARG)
This function is obsolete. Emacs now does hscrolling automatically, if `truncate-lines' is non-nil. Also see `automatic-hscrolling'. *Docstring* Actually wrapping lines should have been the default (unless you are settting it otherwise in your .emacs).
