Hi Folks, Yes, you read that right. Jess 7.0a1 -- the first release of "Charlemagne" -- is available for download at the usual place:
http://herzberg.ca.sandia.gov/jess/download.shtml Licensed users will have access to the full source code for the engine; others will get a binary-only version. Note that this is a sort of "sneak peek," as I won't make an announcement aside from this list until Monday. This release includes the new Eclipse-based editor (now called "JessDE"). Unfortunately the debugger is not included yet; it should be available soon. Other highlights of this release include an XML rule language (dubbed "JessML"), a Java API for rule creation, and many new engine features. See http://herzberg.ca.sandia.gov/jess/charlemagne.shtml and http://herzberg.ca.sandia.gov/jess/docs/70/ (and especially http://herzberg.ca.sandia.gov/jess/docs/70/release_notes.html ) for more details about this release. Now that this is out the door, additional releases should follow more quickly. Your feedback, as always is welcomed. Thanks for your input and your patience. --------------------------------------------------------- Ernest Friedman-Hill Advanced Software Research Phone: (925) 294-2154 Sandia National Labs FAX: (925) 294-2234 PO Box 969, MS 9012 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Livermore, CA 94550 http://herzberg.ca.sandia.gov -------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send the words 'unsubscribe jess-users [EMAIL PROTECTED]' in the BODY of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED], NOT to the list (use your own address!)
