OK, that's changed a bit:

1) clear JAVA cache (Windows control panel...Java...temporary internet
files...view...select all...delete
2) close and reopen browser
3) http://chemapps.stolaf.edu/jmol/docs/examples-12/test_load1.htm

(because I guess the browser also caches the Jar files separately from Java,
so both caches have to be cleared).
