Jmol users -- FYI -- if you are interested in the load FILTER option or thermal ellipsoids, you should use Jmol 11.5.35. This version also does a better job of minimizing memory usage.
#version=11.5.35 # bug fix: proper thermal ellipsoid probability measures initial implementations for thermal ellipsoids just scaled the thermal ellipsoids linearly -- ellipsoid 60 was twice the size of ellipsoid 30. Jmol 11.5.35 produces thermal ellipsoids with the proper probability measure -- from 1 to 99 (percent) as defined at ftp://ftp.ornl.gov/pub/ortep/man/pdf/chap6.pdf # bug fix: load FILTER not saved in state when FILTER was introduced, the command saved using SAVE STATE or created by WRITE STATE had a typo -- "FITLER" instead of "FILTER". This error is corrected. # code: better garbage collection in relation to JmolAdapter class Earlier versions of Jmol didn't release large arrays of data read from files until late in the load process. Jmol 11.5.35 does a better job of releasing arrays earlier on, making it less likely to get an out-of-memory error during loading. Bob ps. Jmol 11.5.36 (unreleased) fixes a bug relating to symop comparisons such as "select symop < 3" or "select symop >= 6" that has been there since the introduction of symop (Jmol 11.1?). -- Robert M. Hanson Professor of Chemistry St. Olaf College Northfield, MN http://www.stolaf.edu/people/hansonr If nature does not answer first what we want, it is better to take what answer we get. -- Josiah Willard Gibbs, Lecture XXX, Monday, February 5, 1900 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
