As a workaround for Issue #2, I've been using an (unofficial) 64-bit
Chromium build for a while now for testing:

http://www.chrome64bit.com/index.php/google-chrome-64-bit-for-mac

I've been using 35.0.1859.0 and found it to be quite stable and suitable
for day-to-day use.
