hi all,
i sent an email to the perl jobs list looking for work and in the most recent
batch sent out, i didn't see my email. is that still allowed or what? there used
to be some number of job seeking posts but the web site doesn't support that so
you had to send an email directly to the list as i did. i am not even sure this
jobs discuss list is still alive so consider this a test of that as well.
thanx,

As I recall the purpose of the Perl Jobs list has always been for people who
have money to spend by hiring other people to do Perl work.
It doesn't make sense for the list to be for posts by people looking to earn
money doing Perl work. If that were allowed, there would be an avalanche of
posts that would effectively spam the list. Most subscribers are looking for
work presumably and won't benefit from being spammed by others doing likewise.
On the other hand, perhaps you are talking about a middle ground where you are
advertising your services to help list subscribers find work that lets them earn
money. If so, then I would say this should be allowed, though such posts should
be infrequent, say once per month per person/company offering that.
