Thickbox and an iFrame linking to a secure page would do the same thing. If https was the issue, that would do it - in fact, that's pretty much all they're doing - pop up a div, insert an iframe, populate that with the link - yeah, jQuery could front-end that, as long as you've got a server that can handle the back end.

Has anyone come up with something like this using jquery?

I have been on a quest to find a secure ajax contact form and have found a
few examples on the internet using other js libraries (mootools etc) but
have yet to find one powered by jquery. Have I been looking in the wrong
places?
