Upgrading from 1.7.2 to 1.8 should be pretty straight-forward. An
upgrade guide will be available at the time of the release. I don't
recall making API changes to dialog that would affect users upgrading
from 1.7.2, but we'll go through all the changes prior to the release.

If there are compatibility problems with 1.7.2, we'll likely work on a
1.7.3 release for compatibility with 1.3.2 and 1.4. Our plan for 1.8
is to have compatibility with both 1.3.2 and 1.4. We will likely stop
supporting 1.3.2 with the 1.9 release.
