Set up a MIDI track and insert the softsynth into your project (there are options in the insert synth dialog that will create the MIDI track along with the instance of the plugin), make sure the input is either all or your MIDI input device and the output is to Dimension Pro, make sure the Dimension Pro out is routed to "master" or your audio device (if former, obviously, the master bus must also be routed to your audio output). Control-tab to the synth wrack, find Dimension Pro, press p, then shift-alt-b (?) to load the program browser. From there you select your patch, then play something on your MIDI instrument of choice, and you should have sound. This is similar to the tutorial where they have you make an instance of the TTS-1 in the CakeWalk help file, an invaluable resource along with the help files included with each set of hotspots that will let you know the keystrokes to use that make it do things. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anthony Tom on the laptop" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]>; "'JSonar -- JAWS Scripts for Sonar discussion list'" <[email protected]>

Hi. Is there a tutorial for dimention pro anywhere out there? I really want
to get this thing going. Or at least a working relationship with her?

Personally, I think Dimension has some great patches, and you can
dramatically improve it with additional ones from DigitalSoundFactory.
However, a little tip. You will get those packs cheaper if you purchase
them through Cakewalk's website. I purchased a ton of these at a very low
price when they were on offer from Cakewalk. Shame about Hypersonic though
as I don't think you can run it under Windows 7 64 bit.

Hi,

Personally I prefer Hypersonic sounds over Dimension pro any time. I find
they have a better brightness over all, and it sounds as if there is more
headroom to play with during mixing. Anyway it's just my opinion that the
over-all sound of the instruments in Hypersonic is just better.
But again that's only my view. If you listen to "Siya on line" that I
mentioned earlier, from:
ftp://jsonar:[email protected]

in my folder "Yamuna Jivana Dasa's productions", that track was produced
with almost no mastering except on the vocals, and yet it sounds quite
decent. I had used Hypersonic almost exclusively for the instrumentation on that song. Imagine if I had to really play with the compressors and EQs on
that song.

Hi all,
was just curious, if one is looking for a good high quality library of
different sounds, like Demension has, are there any other alternatives
that one can look at?
I really like the sounds of Demension Pro, but was just curious.
Many thanks!
Christian
