I only use the 64-bit version of Sonar 8.53. I also thought that the 8.5 version of sonar came with a 64-bit version of Dimension Pro - At least that is what I think I installed from the Sonar CD.
Perhaps you should try and re-install Sonar and make sure you've installed the 64-bit version of everything. I've used Dimension Pro with sonar 8.53 and 64-bit and never experienced the problems you discussed. --Pete From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Andy B Sent: Tuesday, July 19, 2011 11:16 PM To: 'JSonar -- JAWS Scripts for Sonar discussion list' Subject: Re: [Jsonar] BitBridge? I would do that, but I have no 64bit version of Dimension Pro. I had the original 1.0 installer. Then installed the Sonar 8 content for Dimension Pro which included a "X64 update". It then supposedly updated it to 1.2. I then tried to install the 1.5 update which apparently failed because programs and features in windows says that it still has 1.2 installed. I can't find the x64 update anywhere. I also seem to be having some problems inserting soft synths into a project. I do the following: 1. Insert the soft synth (true piano X64) in this case. 2. Check the box that says "create first synth audio output" and hit ok 3. Set the midi track output to the synth audio track 4. Set the audio output to master bus 5. Make sure master bus output points to my hardware outs. 6. Press play. Nothing happens 7. Press alt+8 for synth rack 8. Arrow to the synth in question (true piano X64 1) in this case. 9. Press space to play the project 10. Press C to "connect" the synth. 11. The track plays with the new synth assignment after pressing C a few times. 12. Press space to stop playing 13. Repeat step 9. The synth is disconnected. Never had this many problems with 32bit versions of Sonar before. Is the X64 version really flakey? Is it better to just go back to it instead? I had a problem using a 32-bit VST with my 64-bit installation of sonar 8.53 once before. Advice on this list said that the bitbridge program was to make the 32-bit VST work in the 64-bit version of sonar, but that this covered up some stuff in the UI and made it so that the HSC sets wouldn't work. The solution is to either use a 64-bit plug-in or to install the 32-bit version of sonar alongside the 64-bit version and use the 32-bit version of Sonar when you want to use a 32-bit plug-in. I haven't tried the 32-bit version of sonar but rather used another plug-in with the 64-bit version. Hope this helps. --Pete From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Andy B Sent: Tuesday, July 19, 2011 10:46 PM To: JSonar -- JAWS Scripts for Sonar discussion list Subject: [Jsonar] BitBridge? I have the X64 version of Sonar 8.5.3 installed. I have windows 7 x64 sp1 with dimension pro 1.5 update. A few things: 1. I find multiple versions of dimension pro in the insert>soft synths menu. I can't tell what one is what version though. 2. When I find the one that actually loads right (d-pro 32bit), insert it into the synth rack and then go to properties by pressing p, HSC totally dies with "Dimension Pro window not found. Expecting ^Dimension pro but found Dimension Pro." Any ideas on how to fix this? I have jaws 12 newest update with the newest jsonar 8.5.1 release.
