I may have already figured it out. However, I was referring to not being able to access parameters. I believe that I already understand how to record automation, but just in case there's still something I'm missing, I will review the steps I have taken. 1. I insert a stereo bus from the "Bus pane". 2. I assign a VST effect to the new bus via the Fx bin context menu and enable "Automation write" when the plug-in's properties dialog appears. 3. I insert a "Send" to the "Bus" on the Fx bin of a track. Here's where I got stuck. I couldn't figure out where to access the parameters of the VST effect to record automation. I eventually figured out from the article on the main page that I could access them from the "Track/Bus Inspector", but I had to uncheck several items under "Display" before I could even see the plug-in listed and I had to check "Show Assignable Controls" under the "Module Options/Fx" menu to make the parameters visible. This seems to work for recording automation, but I'm still not quite sure if I'm doing this correctly. Not being able to see the plug-in in the "Track/Bus Inspector" initially was really throwing me off. I live in New York City and I'm new to the list. I'm also a new user of the JSonar scripts, although I do have some minor prior experience with older versions of Cakewalk. I've only recently discovered JSonar and started using it with Sonar 8.5. So far I've done pretty well on my own, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to record automation of a specific parameter of an effect. I've added the VST effect to a track and enabled "Automation Write", but I have no idea how to access individual parameters of the effect for modification. Any help with this would be appreciated. I have no MIDI hardware at this point, although that may change in the future.
