OVERALL GRADE: A+
In Time
http://www.intime.uni.edu/
GRADE LEVEL: Professional

CONTENT: A+
In Time offers a wealth of information and research related to using
informational technology to facilitate quality educational programs. Sections
of
the site include research on principles of learning, information processing,
content standards, tenets of democracy, and teacher knowledge and behavior.

AESTHETICS: A+
The In Time site is attractive and easy to read. Some graphs are available
within the various articles to add understanding. To view the videos,
RealPlayer
8 is necessary.

ORGANIZATION: A+
This site is very well organized. Top-of-page buttons generate menus to access
other links. The site is organized into five major sections that make finding
information easy and straightforward.

REVIEW: A+
IN TIME stands for Integrating New Technologies Into the Methods of Education.
This site provides research, information, and videos about integrating
technology into proven research-based methods of teaching and learning. Videos
show teachers integrating technology into their classrooms. Search videos by
title, content area, grade level, learning element, and ten other criteria.
Lesson plans are available for download. A substantial Help section is
available
for all sections of the site -- including downloading necessary plug-ins and
accessing lesson plans. The project was funded through a three-year grant from
the United States Department of Education PT3 program -- Preparing Tomorrow's
Teachers to Use Technology. This site is a valuable resource for educators who
want to use technology in their classrooms. The research and resources offered
can move teachers along the path toward making technology an integral part of
student learning processes.

-------------------------------

OVERALL GRADE: A
ReadWriteSite
http://www.readwritesite.com/
GRADE LEVEL: Pre-K-6

CONTENT: A
This site provides numerous literacy tools and activities for students,
parents,
and teachers. The site includes links to reading and writing sites, a
reading-level estimator that parents or teachers can use, and an easy-to-use
assessment calculator that will score oral reading assessments (running
records). Students can use the interactive writing activities and keep track of

their reading with a Web-based book tracker.

AESTHETICS: A
The ReadWriteSite is attractive and easy to read. Few graphics add to ease of
use. There is a graphic on each page requesting a $1.00 donation to keep the
site free for all to use.

ORGANIZATION: A
Simple to navigate, each page has convenient links to the others.

REVIEW: A
The ReadWriteSite was developed to promote student literacy. Since 1999, it has

provided a resource for parents and teachers interested in helping children
choose books at the correct reading level and encouraging reading for all
students. Literacy Links offers links to some of the best reading and writing
sites available. The Sight Words link allows users to access and print
flashcard-formatted high-frequency words based on Dr. Edward Fry's research.
Level Estimator(c) can help parents estimate a child's reading level and then
use the Book Browser to find specific book titles within an appropriate range.
Another tool -- the Assessment Calculator -- allows teachers to score oral
reading assessments or running records quickly and easily online. If teachers
enter additional student information, they may print a report that is
appropriate to use with parents. Teachers and students may use the Book Browser

link to access lists of book titles by readability level. Students will love
the
interactive writing available through Crazy Ad-Libs. This site offers an
excellent resource for anyone interested in literacy education in the early
years.

OVERALL GRADE: A
Math-Kitecture
http://www.nycenet.edu/oit/math-kitecture/
GRADE LEVEL: 6-12

CONTENT: A
This site, alternately named Real-Life Math, Architecture and Computers, has a
number of activities to encourage students to study math by doing architecture.

Students can work on "Architivities," including Floor Plan Your Classroom and
then use CAD software to create a design and submit it to this site.

AESTHETICS: A
Math-kitecture is easy to read and use.

ORGANIZATION: A
The Math-kitecture site is organized into five sections, easily accessed by
buttons at the top of each page. On each page, links are organized in tables to

allow easy reading. There are also links to the sections at the bottom of each
page.

REVIEW: A
Math-kitecture uses architecture to offer opportunities for students to study
estimation, measuring skills, proportion, and ratios by hand-drafting a floor
plan of their classroom to scale. Then students may use software to create a
computer-aided design (CAD) version. Students may submit their work to the site

for display in the online Student Work Gallery. The Office of Instructional
Technology of the New York City Board of Education designed the site. The
Student Work Gallery has many valuable examples for students to study and
discuss. Mathematics & Architecture: Resources has more than 25 links to
software resources and other Web resources to study architecture and other uses

of math skills. Some examples include Archi-Maticians links to Frank Lloyd
Wright and R. Buckminster Fuller and Archi-Design links to Skyscrapers and the
Big Buildings site.
