I've tried compiling the 1.0.7 source on Red Hat 8.0 with gcc 3.2, and it fails with-

During ./configure, there were a lot of 'checking for [something].h ... no' lines. Not 
sure if that means anything, but it seemed kind of suspicious, especially since some 
of them were things like stdlib.h and string.h. If anyone has any ideas, feel
