All apps seem happy with translucency :) -- of course, except for those that should have opaque windows (like many video players). I'd like to add that THERE ARE some Qt5 windows that are polished BEFORE being created (like in Qt4) and that most Qt5 menus are so too. The difference between Qt4 and Qt5 regarding translucency is mainly that Qt4 windows were ALWAYS polished before creation. Whether this is a bug in Qt5, I'm not sure now.
