Thanks for the report
The issue you describe seems like KWin is actually crashing. The
Plasma crash you see on reboot seems unrelated.
In any case, please try updating your Qt to 5.5.x which is available
for *buntu and see if that helps. In our experience it helps a lot with
crashes like these.
