Can you tell us what packet/process/function places icons on the desktop during KDE loading, in order to set debug (Qdebug) "traps"? I tried to locate my self, running through the plasma shell code, but it was more complicated than I expected. I believe that the process fails to read part of the file with the icons coordinates.
