Yes, I have heard that already,  ie. digiKam, I'm running the appimage 5.4
version and 5.7 is out.
Well I do have a blank 40 Gig partition, I could install 17...it's supported
till Jan2018 LOLwell there it is......I took my frustration out (on you) and
you handled it like a champ.

I'm with you, I also burned out on the rolling release distros. However one
downside of the slow-n-stable model is that often "stable" is a synonym for
"has really old bugs that have already been fixed". On the other hand, bleeding
edge means you're the QA team (e.g.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385594). Pick yer poison! ;) I'm guessing
you'll only upgrade when Kubuntu 18.04 (LTS) comes out with Plasma 5.12., and
by then you should reap the benefit of a LOT of bug fixes and polishing.
