Yes, but while hidden when you select XRender, it's never supposed to be
disabled (there's simply no code that does such) - and in your case should list
GLX & EGL

The actual locker is ksmserver and the greeter should be restarted immedately
(and no client should be exposed interim because ksmserver also holds a black
barrier window.

Ie. the screen gets locked, but the greeter doesn't show up - it will likely
crash.

=> try to invoke the greeter directly instead of locking the screen:
    /usr/lib/kscreenlocker_greet --testing
maybe
   /usr/lib/libexec/kscreenlocker_greet --testing
