I had he same issue. Found a simple fix:
1. open Compositor System Settings Module (search for compositor).
2. change Rendering Backend to OpenGL 3.1
3. open terminal and type "kcmshell5 qtquicksettings"
4. change Rendering Backend to Software
5. change Render Loop to Basic.
6. Reboot (or log out and in again)
