Bug ID: 442948 Summary: Keyboard layout priority is ignored Product: systemsettings Version: 5.22.4 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kcm_keyboard Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: sergio.calleg...@gmail.com CC: butir...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When using multiple keyboard layouts, it is possible to "move up" or "move down" them, establishing a priority. Unfortunately at plasma startup this priority is ignored. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Configure an Italian and an English (US) layout 2. Set the English layout on top 3. Start plasma OBSERVED RESULT Plasma starts with the Italian layout. There is no way to make plasma start with the English US layout EXPECTED RESULT Plasma should start with whatever layout has priority. There should be a way to have the system start with the English US layout even if an Italian layout is also configured. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro Linux KDE edition (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0 Qt Version: 5.12.2 Working with X11 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The issue does not appear to be present in Kubuntu 20.04. However the latter uses a much older software stack: Plamsa 5.18.7, framework 5.68. There is a newer Qt though (5.12.8). Another thing that may be worth mentioning is that Manjaro introduces its own keyboard setup module that may have some interference with the KDE one. Hence, we may be facing either a regression or a manjaro specific bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
