            Bug ID: 366246
Summary: Plasmashell restarts randomly, taskbar disappears and
                    reappears after +/- 10 seconds
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 5.7.2
          Platform: Slackware Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Task Manager
          Assignee: h...@kde.org
          Reporter: rpedr...@xstore.co.za
                CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

Since upgrading to Plasma 5.7, I've had an issue where the taskbar will
randomly disappear for a few seconds and then reappear. Also my desktop
background goes black so I assume it's actually plasmashell that is restarting.
I can force the issue by running the "About System" system settings module.
There is no other specific desktop action that I can point to that causes this
issue. dmesg shows nothing and system logs have no clue.

This may relate to a much higher CPU usage than normal since the upgrade to
Plasma 5.6. CPU usage of the plasmashell process is now directly linked to the
no. of task bar icons in use.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use desktop
2. I can force the issue by restart the "About System" system settings module
3.

Actual Results:
Taskbar disappears

Expected Results:
Taskbar should not disappear

Slackware 14.2
Plasma 5.7.2
Frameworks 5.24.0
QT 5.6.1
Kernel 4.4.14
NVidia 367.27
