No idea what you mean with "playlist created by multi-selecting files in
dolphin". If you mean the playlist should contain the selected files then that
is not how Haruna works.
Haruna can only open a single file and then populates the playlist with the
files from the same folder as the opened files.

I don't understand what you're trying to say.
When you open Haruna it loads the last played file and populates the playlist
with the files from the same folder as the opened files (if setup like that).
If you want it to open a custom playlist then open a playlist file .m3u.
As for the "remove from playlist" option, it's supposed to be used with the
"save" option, first you add/remove files then you save the playlist .
