this bug has never been fixed for me (kubuntu) and I have switched to TB the
last 2 years.
today I've just tested the live CD of 12.10 Quantal Quetzal Beta 2 (64 bits)
(KDE 4.9)
and the issue is exactly the same:
kmail tries to send emails to "mycontact@kubuntu" instead of expanding the
contact group "my contact"
