I'm a Lua newbie, and my goal is to ZIP everything I need to run the
Xavante webserver, so that the user doesn't have to install the
LuaBinaries (http://luabinaries.luaforge.net/), and then install
LuaRocks, and then install Xavante, and finally run Xavante.
When unzipping the LuaBinaries, this is what I get:

Is it possible to install and run Xavante in the LuaBinaries without
LuaRocks? If LuaRocks is required, how should I proceed to avoid
downloading duplicates with LuaBinaries?

PS: Is there a web interface to the mailing list besides the basic
archives? I find web-based forums easier to work with, especially
when subscribing to the digest version of the list.
