You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When images are deleted, thumbnails are never removed from
~/.thumbnails. This causes .thumbnails folder to grow very big.

Steps to reproduce:
1: $ rm -f ~/.thumbnails/large/* ~/.thumbnails/normal/*
2: Start digiKam
3: Click Tools > Rebuild All Thumbnails
4: $ du -sh ~/.thumbnails
5: Watch that the thumbnails-folder has grown.
6: Delete a lot of images in an album in digiKam.
7: Close digiKam.
8: $ du -sh ~/.thumbnails
9: Observe that the size of the thumbnails-folder has not decreased.

Expected result:
That thumbnails are deleted as well, when an image is deleted. It does not make
much sense to keep a thumbnail of a deleted image.

** Affects: digikam (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
