Jean Leader will be teaching Bedfordshire LaceJean hails from Glasgow,
Scotland where she and her husband David work tirelessly on the Lace Guild
Website. Jean has always been interested in threads and textiles making dolls’
clothes as a child, while weaving and spinning came later. She came across a
bobbin lace instruction book in a local bookshop twenty years ago and sparked
her love of making lace. Little did she know how it would change her life!
Jean started teaching lace making in 1987 with a class full of complete
beginners and now teaches weekend and longer classes. She fell in love with
Bedfordshire lace when she first saw Margaret Turners’ ‘Bedfordshire Lace
Patterns’ in 1988, and while she makes other laces, Bedfordshire is still her
favorite.

In Jean’s class you may work on something of your own choosing or a pattern
provided by the tutor, sort out problems, discuss future projects and perhaps
try some simple designing! Needed are the usual bobbin lace supplies; pens,
pencils &p paper for notes and designing.

Torchon.

her husband Ken.
