Thank you all for the explanation and I venture to say that I was not the only one with the question in my mind. Looked up your place in the Atlas, Diane. Things Canadian interest me more than most - the two most important Canadians live in Windsor, Ontario - guess I should count their mother too, our eldest daughter. Have "threatened" not to come to Canada again unless I can take the Rocky Mountain special train, so had to look - time will tell.
