I only ran into a few nuns who were very strict, bordering on what we
kids labeled as mean and cruel. By eighth grade I ran into a few who
used physical punishment.
In high school they used more severe physical punishment. Much of which
would be considered criminal by today's standards. But we all survived
it. :)
