Well it is not the it is supposed to work but for the time being you
have got your result.

OK I forgot to fix that. the ifupdown program is using both ifconfig
(that is why ifconfig is provided with Bering right now) and route (I
forgot that one). I plan to modify ifupdown so that it only uses ip.
Rather than using route you could use a command like
up ip route ...
in your interface file

Well I have nerver tried the stuff with 3 interfaces. I will investigate
that. Also note that your shorewall setup will have to be modified to
accomodate the three interfaces setup. Use the three-interfaces template
available in the SHorewall web site. I will extend my documentation on
this issue.
