Did either of you check the SourceForge Site Status? If there was no
mention in Site Status, did either of you open a Support Request with
the SourceForge staff?

Please refrain from using that script. I haven't tested it sufficiently
yet, and it may do something unexpected. I'll place it in crontab and
commit my changes to cvs when I feel it's ready.
