Kernel was taken from kernel.org because kernel.org was one of 
constantly-available resources and because kernel is enough heavy - just 
to make git/cvs repo smaller. Another things that are taken from 
internet - gcc/binutils.
I added 2.6.35.14 into git tree. IMHO it isn't too much place for 
discussions here - in any case, missed source shouldn't be a showstopper 
for developers; decision will be done when kernel.org backs online - but 
I think that sources were laid into tree just because they are already 
into git tree :)
