I've been trying for the last few weeks to create the following small
office "killer" Bering distribution.  I've solved some of the issues but
I'm still not 100% sure if what I want will actually work.

 

I've would like to have the following setup:

 

Eth0 as the internet port  (Done)

Eth1 as the internal port   (Done)

Wlan0 as the 802.11b port  (Done)

Running on Bering RC3  WITH shorewall acting as the firewall  (Done)

Samba Printer server to USB printer (1/2 Done - Printing to LPT)

DHCP server for both Eth1 and Wlan0 (Only made for Eth1 so far)

Bridging between the Eth1 and Wlan0 to allow for traffic between
interfaces behind and through shorewall (Can't seem to make work at all)

 

My Question(s) are:

 

Is it possible to have just one ip subnet for both the wired (Eth1) and
wireless (Wlan0) clients?

 

If so, can anyone point me where I can learn how to do this with
bridging?  

 

I've tried to do this with the bridge.lrp and bridge.o, but when BR0 can
up ShoreWall stopped. I wish to use bridging so it can be as automated
as possible.  I have gotten this to work with the use of static IP and
routing, but this is not the best solution for a DHCP environment.

 

I am using the following LRP and .o:  Any suggestions for better ones:

 

Basic Bering RC3 distribution with the following added:

Hostap_plx.o, wireutil.lrp, libm.lrp for the Linksys wireless card

Tulip.o for the 3com NICs

SMB-2b.lrp, lpd.lrp, parport.o, parport_pc.o, lp.o for the printing

Dhcpd.lrp for Dhcp

Ide_mode.o, ide_disk.o, ide_prob.o for hard disk support

 

Bridge.lrp and bridge.o used when trying the bridging

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Once I got this working I wanted
to post as a package with a how to.I've seen a lot of really good ideas
and solutions in the LEAF world, but for a newbie like me it is really
daunting to start into.
