There is a number of embedded Linux systems on the NET OpenWRT one of them. AFAIK LEAF has originally been, and still is, targeted to the floppy image. If you drop this requirement, as WISP-DIST did originally and as we see happen right now with many people looking for flash storage, then there are quite a number of sulutions. Pricewise I _believe_ the OpenWRT has a good Price/Performance ratio, but is limited to that specific platform. Once Linksys decides to go to another processor family the community will just have to follow as happens now with WRAP. Although if we can believe PCEngines there is going to be another x86 based WRAP, although possibly more expensive. But price is a function of numbers of units sold. The x86 platform however leaves a wide variety of hardware. I for once have a number of 12 port Nexgate's for enterprise firewalls and WRAP boxes for satellite locations. There are still some old junk PC boxes out there performing well. Erich ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
