Oh, I forgot to mention this. Well the distance is less than 2 meters.

No.

I tried to take care about this - and controlled it once more after your
hint.

Yes, I can 'see' about 10 APs in the environment which are located more
far away. Some of them seem to have a lot of more tx-power:

# iwlist ath0 scan | grep Qual
                    Quality=10/70  Signal level=-85 dBm  Noise level=-95 dBm
                    Quality=5/70  Signal level=-90 dBm  Noise level=-95 dBm
                    Quality=9/70  Signal level=-86 dBm  Noise level=-95 dBm
                    Quality=6/70  Signal level=-89 dBm  Noise level=-95 dBm
                    Quality=14/70  Signal level=-81 dBm  Noise level=-95 dBm
                    Quality=8/70  Signal level=-87 dBm  Noise level=-95 dBm
                    Quality=251/70  Signal level=-100 dBm  Noise
level=-95 dBm
                    Quality=35/70  Signal level=-60 dBm  Noise level=-95 dBm
                    Quality=141/70  Signal level=-210 dBm  Noise
level=-95 dBm
                    Quality=5/70  Signal level=-90 dBm  Noise level=-95 dBm

Not yet. I switched encryption off, because I had connection troubel and
I'm now in the state of having found the cause: The mentioned low link
quality.

If so, you might want to try adding

I'm going to switch on WPA and will try to switch channels using those
parameters.

Yes

Absolutely right!

Well, thanks a lot. I will try....

As far as I am experimenting, I might be affected by
