I would rather use routing and use proxy arp for this purpose.
But then, here is the syntax I use for my bridge between eth1 and eth2,
the interfaces have no ip addresses.
# Step 4 (optional): configure a bridge
auto br0
iface br0 inet static
address 194.124.158.99
netmask 255.255.255.0
broadcast 194.124.158.255
bridge_ports eth1 eth2
up ip set link mtu 1400 dev br0
