Great it works now.

I have to admit that it was a bumpy road towards a stable 5.2 version. It also
shows that LEAF needs more beta/rc testers.

The bug that prevents dhcpcd to work in 5.2 has been intrduced in 5.2-rc2
released in August, a month before 5.2 has been released.

The failing i486 kernel has been introduced in 5.2.1-beta1 in Oct, and while
we've provided another rc candidate, it was detected in 5.2.1 in the meantime,
about four weeks later.

We know, it's a hassle to upgrade a working machine, so we like to find a
solution, to get more users to testdrive the available beta/rc versions -
otherwise it does make no sense to go through the release process for a
beta/rc version.

Whatever idea helping us to test versions before getting final is welcome, e.g.
description of dual boot setups., descriptions how to restore to a working
setup in case an update fails... is welcome.

Unfortunately the quote misses a few imprortant words.

"If set to true modules will be saved to moddb.lrp and it will be safe to
*remove modules.sqfs* from your boot image to save space...."

The default is set to "true", so one can remove modules.sqfs.
This has been set that way, to be backward compatible.

But if one do have enough space on your permanent storage, and doesn't bother
about a few extra seconds when booting the machine using modules.sqfs it will
be very convenient to use that mechanism, and either set

UPDATE_MODDB=true

to

UPDATE_MODDB=false

or to never use

m) Backup modules

in lrcfg.

Note: If you decide for speeding up the boot process, pls remove modules.sqfs.

We are aware, that this change could be confusing, we consider it as a
transitory solution to maintain backward compability.

I don't bother moddb any longer in my setups and trust in hwdetect with
modules.sqfs, other developers vary, until we'll provide a finalized, improved
solution - which I consider a valid point as well.
