Have you checked if the daemon is running? Do you see that in 'ps'? In my
case I see p9100d, p9101d and p9102d in /var/lock/. Maybe you need to create
/var/lock/subsys directory first in your case?
Then you can use tcpdump to see the where the error could be.

Subject: [leaf-user] p9100
In addition to my first mail:
Command
cat /var/log/syslog | less
shows 3 errors
Jan 26 21:35:44 firewall p9100d[27303]: /var/lock/subsys/p9100d: No such
file or directory
Jan 26 21:35:44 firewall p9101d[4797]: /var/lock/subsys/p9101d: No such
file or directory
Jan 26 21:35:44 firewall p9102d[21573]: /var/lock/subsys/p9102d: No such
file or directory
Maybe these msgs give someone some ideas where the problem is.
Command
telnet 192.168.1.254 9100
from windows gives me Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.
C:\Documents and Settings\cdummy>telnet 192.168.1.254 9100
Connecting To 192.168.1.254...Could not open connection to the host, on
port 9100: Connect failed
But I'm loading line
ACCEPT loc fw tcp 9100:9102 in rules in shorewall.
When i load my old Bering 2.1.1 printing works no problem so this is not
windows fault either.
Thanks for help
Andrey
