no one is illegal presents

: Holiday Camp : a documentary about Woomera 2002
The pivotal action of this documentary is the detention centre breakout,
which occurred as part of a five day long direct action camp established
next to the razor wire fences.

Holiday Camp reclaims the voices of the marginalised, and connects the
issues of Indigenous dispossession, genocide, constructions of race and
incarceration policies, which are often portrayed as unrelated. The film
suggests that the policy of mandatory detention and raising of borders
to protect fortresses of privilege make us all un-free.

Holiday Camp has screened in Sydney, Adelaide and Newcastle, and was
screened at European border camps in Strasbourg France, Jena (Germany),
and the second European PGA conference in Leiden (Netherlands).

Holiday Camp was produced by drive-by shooting/tallstoreez productionz,
a three person Australian/German film collective based in Adelaide and
Hamburg.

:Panel Discussion: A dialogue about resisting the border protection
regime in Australia and internationally

How is your liberation bound up with mine? How will we work together?
Where do we meet?

The directors of the film, Jennifer and Kuddell, will be at the
screening to talk about Holiday Camp.

Kuddell will share his experiences at recent international actions
against border protection policies in fortress Europe held in Strasbourg
and Jena border camps. Strasbourg was a European wide mobilisation of
border activists. Jena was largely initiated by self-managed asylum
seeker organizations based in Germany.

Jess will report back from her recent trip to Baxter and Woomera
detention centres, and relate messages from current detainees.
