Malaysian labour activist Tian Chua has been in jail for two years.
He was jailed without trial under the Internal Security Act because he
organised for workers' rights.

Tian's detention is now being reviewed. This is a critical time for all
workers and union to demand his release.

Come to the public meeting to hear Zaitun Toni Kassim from Suaram 
Malaysia report on the international campaign to free Tian.

Zaitun Toni Kassim is a long time women's rights and democratic rights
activist in Malaysia. She was also an opposition candidate against the 
Mahathir government at the last Malaysian federal elections.

At this meeting there will also be a report by Piergiorgio Moro on the 
10th Anniversary commemoration of the Kader toy factory fire held on 10 
May in Bangkok.

Piergiorgio was the AAWL delegate to the commemoration and attended the
health & safety meetings and protests held in Bangkok to mark ten years
since the tragedy in which 188 workers died because of the negligence of 
the company. This report is part of our continuing support for right of 
workers in the Asia Pacific region to demand health & safety in their 
workplace.
