Sure. An example of a long name might be
Harkness Crossroads, Blount County, Alabama, USA

However that is too long for some screen display. So, there is a short form
of that which could be:
Harkness Crossroads, Blount, Ala.

The short form will fit more screens in Legacy. You have to turn on "Use
short form" however. To do that, go to:
Options >> View tab >> and check "Short Location Names on Screens" which is
on the left side.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Long names & short names

List,

On several occasions I have seen references to "Long name locations and
Short name locations". Could someone explain what these are and
when/where/why/how they are used?

Thanks,

Bill Rhodes
