It might prove easier to research bill of sale for slaves. I have yet to see
a record somewhere where a slave owner lists the slaves he has, other than
the fact how many slaves he might have.

The following resources might be a good starting point for you.

Good luck.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Slave Holder Information

Hello:

I've searched the archives and found very little information on this
topic. I am of African-American descent and, at a certain point, it
would be helpful for research purposes (wills, estate records, etc.) to
track information on slave holder families within my Legacy database and
link them (in some appropriate manner) to specifc ancestors. Are there
any strategies out there that would be useful in this regard?

Any helpful suggestions or thoughts are welcomed. Thank you.

Richard B.
